L.A. Noire is the debut project by Team Bondi, and is being published by Rockstar Games, which is known for popular franchises such as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead.
L.A. Noire is an open-world mystery game based in the 1940s. The game focuses on protagonist Cole Phelps, a detective on the hunt to put an end to a series of murders. In this massive open world game, you will find clues and question suspects to solve the case.
One of the game's biggest points is to capture the facial expressions of those Phelps comes into contact with to see if they are lying, and be able to read them and call them out on it. To do this, Team Bondi has used a revolutionary style of filming and voice recording called MotionScan, which has 32 surrounding cameras to capture absolutely everything. Facial expressions, lip movement, everything. Voice acting is spot-on, and the characters actually look exactly like the actors portraying the voices [See the Tech Trailer posted below to see how it works!]
In the game, the player has a notepad in which everything you do, every clue and hint and tip you pick up, people, places, etc.., is recorded in. This will unlock more options and broaden the player's knowledge of the situation and story, and the more information you receive in the notepad will give you better results during interviews and whatnot.
There is much more to come, but gamers can expect L.A. Noire to be a gripping and suspenseful experience, and will be available May 17th, 2011.
