Best Buy To Have Gaming Sales Clerks

AND GAMING

During a presentation today at an Analyst Day event, Best Buy announced that they will be focusing more heavily on their gaming section by adding in-store gaming sales clerks sometime this fiscal year. Not only that, but a gaming information desk. A company document shows that the floor plan, will shrink the music department to create more space for gaming.

The sales clerks will help buyers with detailed information on games they are interested in as well as help drive pre-orders and "exclusive digital add-ons". The gaming desk will be helpful in creating a location to help push pre-orders and encourage trade-ins for store credit. They believe their trade-in idea will differentiate them from Gamestop as trade-in credit can be used towards anything in Best Buy, not just the gaming section.

They have this new idea of a "gaming transformation" where they plan to capture the number one spot for gaming software, as they currently are inferior to Wal-Mart and Gamestop. Best Buy is definitely stepping its game up, and I believe they will see nothing but positive results.
