DC Universe is merging their servers to make things a little easier for players and for the servers themselves. Starting Monday Morning at 8 AM CET, DC Universe Online’s 26 servers will merge into four “MegaServers.” There will be one for the PlayStation 3, one for the PC and two others are to be set up in the European market.
This merger will allow players to join one another and choose whether to play between PvE and PvP using phase shifters which can be found in either the JLA Watchtower or the Hall of Doom.
The merger will start with Europe’s PC servers Monday Morning at 8 AM CET, followed by the US PC’s on Wednesday (same time) and then the US PlayStation 3 servers will merge on Thursday followed by Europe’s PS3 on the following Monday. The merging will inevitably make the servers go down for approximately 10 to 14 hours but it will (hopefully) be completely worth it.
The one downside is that a lot of players have the same names across multiple servers so some people will be prompted to choose a new name once the servers get back online.
