Fallout Movie - Aborted

One of the top WRPG’s that I have ever played almost got thrown onto the silver screen, according to Game Informer.  Back when the Fallout series had first started, Interplay Films had received the movie rights to the game and intended on making a film.  New details about it have recently surfaced.

The Vault, a Fallout wiki site, found the second revision of the script for the Fallout movie from back in 1998.  This script had been made before Fallout 2 even hit the public but unfortunately the movie was abandoned once Interplay Films was shut down in 2000.

As for the plot, which you can view here or in full PDF form here, involves a vault-dwelling 20 year old hero as he leads a group of people on a mission to find a new water purifier for Vault 13.  It’s a simple concept but there’s no doubt that it could have been made into something outrageously awesome and brought a whole new life to the Fallout series.

It’d be pretty bad ass to see a Fallout movie being made but do we really want to put our game into the hands of Hollywood?  They’d probably take it and mould it into something along the lines of the Resident Evil movie series, the series that only really had one good film in it.
