The release of the new Xbox 360 250GB Slim Kinect ready calls for some mild celebration but Microsoft has decided to add a little more excitement to the upcoming release. Microsoft has created a SoC (System on chip) processor made for the new Xbox 360.
This new and innovative chip will combine the GPU, memory, CPU, and I/O logic and it will also include 372 million transistors, according to International Business Times.
Apparently, this change means that manufacturing costs will deplete because fewer chips will have to be made and it will allow for better power efficiency.
You know what that USUALLY means, right? If they lower the manufacturing costs they may give consumers a retail price drop. There have been no official statements as to whether the price will actually drop but that will definitely increase sales if they do.
