Warner Bros to film Mortal Kombat web series!

There was a rumor awhile ago that there was going to be a new Mortal Kombat film, to go along with the new game. This rumor was proven untrue, despite having a fancy trailer featuring major film actors Michael Jai White as Jax Briggs and Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade.
The trailer for "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" was actually a fan-made concept-trailer by Kevin Tancharoen. The massive response to the trailer, however, caught Warner Bros attention.
While there will not be a new Mortal Kombat movie, Tancharoen was offered to direct a 10-Episode web series based on Mortal Kombat and the more modern, more realistic twist to the franchise as the "Rebirth" trailer shows.

So far, Michael Jai White is the only confirmed cast member, playing his role as Jax, like in the trailer. I must say, Michael Jai White is a fantastic choice.

Maybe if the web series is a success, Warner Bros will look more deeply into a new Full Length Film in the future.
