On February 20th, we discussed how Konami was going to be coming out with a Battle: Los Angeles video game for all of us to enjoy (click here). It was announced a couple of days ago that it is officially going to be released sometime this month for everyone to play.
I have to say that I am slightly disappointed about the developments on this game. At first, I was lead to believe that the game was going to be available for purchase in stores and that it would be a big name title. Unfortunately, it will only be available for purchase/download on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PSN (Playstation Network). I really don't like the idea of this because it makes me feel like the game's going to be along the same lines as any of the Atari titles that have been released on the PSN lately.
We are equipped with a trailer to show you guys to get a taste of what's to come.
The game will be a FPS title that will cast the player as soldiers that are attempting to fight off the alien invasion of Los Angeles. As for the environments, they will be your typical post-apocalyptic type scenes and there appears to be one environment that will take place on a space ship. Though we do get previews of the maps, we have yet to determine exactly what the degree of interactivity the maps will have.
Though there are limited details out at this time, we can say that we know a handful more of information than we did 2 weeks ago. It is assumed that there will be some sort of online multiplayer feature that will be added but it has yet to be confirmed by Konami. Remember, this game is a tie-in so do not be expecting magic and sparkles to shoot out of your console when you put it in.
We're hoping for an amazing outcome but we're skeptic at best!
