Assassins Creed: Brotherhood - The Da Vinci Disappearance

The new DLC package for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has been the talk of every AC fan out there and we’re going to delve into a little review of the DLC for you.

We’ve all been through the “DLC Drama” as I like to call it, where downloadable content barely reaches our standards.  When the DLC is barely comparable to the original story line and where the design of the content merely reaches the standards of the original game.  Luckily, The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC lives up to those standards, giving you everything you could possibly want, even including hints as to where the Assassins Creed franchise may lead you next.

The Da Vinci Disappearance revolves around the mysterious disappearance of Leonardo Da Vinci and how his friend, Ezio, goes on a quest to find him.  You will be hunting for clues and it will involve original characters such as Ezio’s sister (Claudia) and it will also be introducing a new character named Salai who is Da Vinci’s friend and partner.  In order to obtain the information about his whereabouts, you will have to go on a huge quest to obtain five missing paintings that will explain a secret that Da Vinci has been keeping.

Alongside that, there will be 8 new missions that you can play and they are just as good as any of the other missions that the Assassins Creed team has given to us.  The story is fresh and entertaining, the landscapes and areas feel renewed as you venture through Rome which is wonderful because we all hate being bored of going through the same towns over and over again.  As you go further into the quest there will be a lot of combat, a brand new dice mini game, and a copious amount of stealth missions.

The DLC comes to the price of $10 but not only do you receive 8 brand new quests to enjoy, you also receive a new multiplayer aspect, four new multiplayer avatars and a new multiplayer map.

Let’s talk about the multiplayer modes first.  There will be two of them one being called Assassinate mode and it will be a free-for-all hunt to bring down the other templars.  There will be fewer clues to tell you who the target is and so your observation is more important than ever and the difficulty will increase drastically, which is awesome.  The second is Escort which is where you’ll have two teams working against each other to either protect or kill the designated NPC targets.

As for the four multiplayer avatars, they will be called the Dama Rossa, the Knight, the Marquis, and the Pariah.  With all of this you will have a huge amount of variety to make it seem like it’s a whole new experience.  Finally, the new multiplayer map will bring the total of environments to 16 (that’s including the night and dusk variations of stages).

Overall, this DLC pack is exactly what every Assassins Creed: Brotherhood fan could ask for.  It has in-depth coverage of all aspects meanwhile bringing forth new and improved additions to keep our minds entertained.  It’s just as amazing as the original game and it feels extremely solid and well executed.  The most important part is that it fits in with the original plot and storyline so it doesn’t feel like you’re being thrown into a completely new game.  We’re impressed so go purchase it (available for both 360 and the PS3) and get impressed as well!
