Valve to have their own F2P?

Is Valve really planning to have free to play games coming out in the near future?  Half yes and half no.  We already know that Steam will be HOSTING free-to-play games and apparently via an interview with Doug Lombardi (VP of Marketing) he simply stated “yes” as an answer to whether Valve was working on their own independent free to play game.

DotA 2 is Valve’s own baby but there hasn’t been any confirmation whether the game will be free to play or not, so Lombardi could have been referring to that.  Considering that LoL (League of Legends) is an extremely successful free mmo and was developed by Steve Feak (original DotA: Allstars creator/Riot Games)…we have reason to think that DotA 2 may be f2p.

F2P (Free to Play) Xbox 360 Games Are Coming!

Sometimes we’re left to wonder if there are really any free games out there for us to play on our consoles.  Obviously we can’t pick them up from stores and it’s very rare to get one on the PSN or XBLA.  Just as we had hoped, sometime next year Microsoft will be releasing free to play (F2P) games through Xbox Live.  This will allow developers to release free games and then allow users to be able to purchase extended items such as weapons, xp, or virtual currency.

There are a ton of F2P games for our PC’s such as LoL (League of Legends) and Dungeon Fighter Online, also, EA started doing the Battlefield Play4Free deal with the beta that was released not too long ago.  But now owners of Xbox 360’s will have something to look forward to, get ready!
