The Actual Wii U

After the Nintendo E3 press conference many people were somewhat confused with what was actual revealed to them as the new console. The talking was all about a remote control that looked like a hand held portable gaming system and Nintendo never actually said the word "console" when describing it, leaving many wondering if this was all there was.

Well, no, there is actually a Wii U console. However, all cool tricks came in the new Wii U remote, which is why they focused on it. The console looks similar to the Wii and seems like it is basically an upgraded version of the original Wii. Nintendo really made a mistake by hyping up the Wii U, and then showing nothing but the controller when it came game time. On the contrary, the Wii U as a whole looks to bring us into a new age of gaming with this new technology they have displayed.

So lets just get right to the good stuff. Here is everything "Wii U" that was discussed in the Nintendo press conference at E3 2011.

Nintendo Promises One Game Per Month

One Wii game per month?  Sounds good!

Nintendo stated that they will be releasing one Wii title per month according to their Tokyo Earnings Briefing.  They also stated that their efforts have been slightly slanted towards the 3DS and the new console that they’re working on to show at E3 so now they’ve promised to start working more towards making games.  They’ve at least promised that Kid Icarus: Uprising is scheduled for a summer 2011 release.

So begin to get excited :)

Rumoured Nintendo Wii Price Cut

When the Wii first came out in November of 2006 it was retailing for about $250.00 USD.  That console sold millions for two years at that price before Nintendo cut the price down to around $199 USD in 2009.  Now there is speculation that the Wii’s price will drop again to about $150 on May 15th according to industry analyst Michael Pachter.  Though there has not been an official comment from Nintendo, our valuable sources say that the probability of this occurring is very likely.

We also think that it would be a good move for the Japanese gaming giant to drop the price because with the current event of the Xbox 360 outselling the Wii by millions, it's an amazing way to spark consumer interest.  Personally, I currently use the Wii for their copious amount of work out regimes but I'm sure that there has to be thousands of people out there looking to pick up the console for a decreased price.

We probably won’t be getting an official comment until the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 7th-9th because that seems like it would be the perfect time for Nintendo to come out with such a large statement.  So with the May 15th prediction hanging in the air, who knows?  Could be then, could be later...we’ll just have to wait and see.
