The PS4 has already been rumored to be in its beginning stages of thought, and what consumers are paying attention too most is what Sony has said about the next system they will produce.
When you think about next generation, or a companies newest product out, you think bigger and better right? Well apparently, Sony is saying that the next console will not necessarily be more powerful than the PS3! WHAT!? They plan to focus more on games and reaching a broader audience. In all honesty, if you want a more broad/family system, the Nintendo systems seem to be the way to go. I don't think the majority is going to be pleased with the direction Sony intends on going. The console and the game you need to play it should be balanced in focus as they go hand in hand.
