EA Sports Presents: Season Ticket

EA Sports made an announcement during their press release a few days ago regarding this new program titled Season Ticket.  Season Ticket is supposedly a new subscription service that will give you discounts and specialized web content as well as early access to releases in the NFL, NHL, FIFA, Tiger Woods and NCAA Football franchises.  Should you become a member, you will also receive a 20% discount on all DLC for EA Sports titles and it is said that one of the first releases will be a Creation Center pack for FIFA Soccer ‘12. This offer will be available to all those who own a PlayStation 3 or an Xbox 360 for the low price of $24.99/2000 MS Points per YEAR.

Now there’s a catch, as we know, there’s always a catch.  Obviously the access to games early is a really big incentive for everyone, but this is how it’s going to go for everyone with subscriptions.  You will be able to download the game as early as 3 days in advance and the download will be a digital copy straight to your system…little do you know that the download expires after the 3 days and the game gets into retail locations.

It’s also pretty obvious that EA wouldn’t have given away 5 big titles a year for only $25 but those sports fans that are really into the EA franchises will most likely be the people to look into this offer more.  All members will receive a hard copy and a digital copy of a membership badge.

Madden Curse in Your Hands!

With the new Madden 12 you may have the option to make or break a “football stars” career.  That’s right, you will be placed with the burden of choosing who the Madden curse will be passed on to next.  Every year when a cover player is chosen for the Madden series, they either find themselves injured throughout the season or their career will be at an all time low.  Now it’s your choice!

EA games and ESPN have teamed up to create a bracket-like voting system to where you can vote between two NFL players who you think should be on the cover.  Mind you, the choices have been pre-made depending on who agreed to be on the cover.  There are several options between two players and as time progresses from March 21st to April 26th, players will be eliminated (by vote) and whoever’s left standing at the finals will be chosen for the cover of Madden 2012.

“Whether it be from fans, media, agents, or even the players themselves, there’s never a shortage of opinions when it comes to the annual selection of the Madden NFL cover athlete,” says Anthony Stevenson, Senior Product Manager of EA Sports.  “So this year we’re handing the keys over to the public.  ESPN continues to be a tremendous partner of the Madden NFL franchise, and it makes perfect sense for the ‘SportsNattion’ to be the platform that gives fans the ultimate say in who graces the cover of Madden NFL 12.”

You can venture on to ESPN’s website and choose your favourite player there.  ESPN will also be interviewing the candidates and providing official updates along the way that you can also tune in to.  Remember, not all players are on the site, but a vast majority of them are!
