QuakeCon 2011

QuakeCon 2011 isn’t just about Quake, contrary to what the popular belief is.  The even will begin on August 4th and continue on through August 7th.  Todd Howard, game director of Skyrim, will be presenting Skyrim to the public for the first time alongside a public demo of Prey 2.  Not only will there be live demos but you will also be able to play a few games, we know for sure that Rage will be available for play on the show floor.

The best part about QuakeCon 2011?  General admission tickets are FREE so if you live in Dallas, Texas don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity.  If you don’t live in the immediate Dallas area don’t worry because G4 will be covering the entire event all week.

Prey 2

On March 14th, 2011 Bethesda Softworks, a ZeniMax Media company announced that the sequel to Prey is scheduled for its release in 2012 and it will be multi platform (Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC).

The game is to be developed by Human Head Studios, the same studio that created Prey and it WILL be build on the id tech engine from id Software.  That seems to be an ongoing trend with all of these new amazing video games, props to id Software.

“We are thrilled to be working with Bethesda on Prey 2.  Prey 2 will provide gamers the opportunity to explore a new facet of the Prey universe, one that offers fast-paced action in an open, alien world.  We’re excited to show gamers the title we have been working on and hope they will be as excited by this title as we are,” says Chris Rhinehart, project lead.
